My husband and I have been going to Los Cabos, located in the picturesque South Baja, California Peninsula, for over 20 years. In fact, we are fractional ownership members there at Hacienda Encantada.
A few years after we’d been traveling to Cabo, as the locals call it, my research turned up a fascinating no-brainer way to save money on food and activities – the Los Cabos Passport Card. What was shocking to me, however, was how many visitors knew nothing about this money-saving passport, even those who’d been coming to Cabo longer than we had.
What is the Los Cabos Passport Card?
The Los Cabos Passport runs $95 and is valid for 10 months to a year after the date of purchase. The card was created to offer visitors a chance to sample the restaurants, activities, fishing and array of services the Los Cabos area offers. However, even if used only once or twice during a visit, it’s worth it.
When you consider all the discounts the card offers, you’ll understand the impressive benefits.
Purchases can be made online at Los Cabos Passport. The passport card can either be mailed to your home address for an additional charge or picked up in person once you arrive in Cabo. We find that picking up the card is an easy process.
There are no coupons involved and the card purchase covers up to six people and can even be used multiple times at each venue. The savings are impressive for two or a larger family or group of friends, allowing guests to stretch their dollar while on vacation.
Offers include two for ones or up to 50% off restaurants, activities, golf, fishing and more in both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo, the two regions that make up the Los Cabos area.
This means that up to six people can go to a restaurant or on a sunset cruise and only pay for three main courses or three sails.
What’s Included in the Passport
Though the Passport changes from time to time in reference to the venues who participate, here’s an overview of what you can expect in the way of offers, promotions and valuable tips.
Restaurants

Forty-three venues offer two for ones on main courses and food items for breakfast, lunches and/or dinners that include Mexican, Indian, Brazilian, Italian, seafood, BBQ, pizza and steakhouses. Some restrictions apply and note that the complimentary entrée will be the least expensive of the two.
Activities
If you aren’t already impressed with the savings on the restaurants, the activities list is the chance to really rack up the deals.
These include sunset sails, jet ski adventures, pirate quests, ATV and dune buggy adventures, e-biking, ziplining, snorkeling, diving, whale watching, glass bottom boat tours, parasailing, horseback riding, golf, waterfall tours and other small-town tours.
Fishing

If you’re wondering why fishing gets its own category not included with activities, it’s because Los Cabos is considered one of the premier fishing destinations in the world.
Cabo offers a diverse and abundant aquatic habitat with over 800 species of fish. There is no high or low season for sportfishing, so any time of the year is great for those into the sport.
My brother and husband so enjoyed their day out on the Sea of Cortez on a 28-foot sportfishing boat that came in at 50% off the regular price. They only had to sign up for a license (which was super easy) and bring their own bait.
We enjoyed the spoils of their adventures as many of the Cabo restaurants off the marina offer to clean the fish and even prepare it if requested for a nominal fee. We brought the fish back to our vacation club and grilled it.
Services Menu
Not to exclude the relaxation and holistic wellness part of a vacation, the Los Cabos Passport also includes spa experiences and services which include massages, facials and other body care treatments at 50% off the regular price.
Newly-Added Features
A newly-added feature can begin the minute you step off the plane by choosing a limousine complete with champagne or a private transport to your resort. Once settled in at your destination, you can also book a private transport to other delightful destinations just a hop, skip and jump from Los Cabos.
So, is it a Good Deal?

I think by now, you can surmise it is and I can only tell you that our family never books a trip to Cabo without having a Los Cabos Passport. It has not only saved us thousands of dollars throughout the years, but offers the opportunity to experience new restaurants, activities and services we may not have otherwise considered. It really is a no-brainer!
