The best way to handle summer heat is by getting in the water!
But not all travelers are keen on sharing resort amenities like pools and hot tubs with hundreds of other guests. That’s ok, because I don’t either. I much prefer vacation rentals offering a more private, personal experience without the crowds.
Home-away-from-home vacation rentals also give families the chance to be together under one roof with plenty of space (and often much more than you’ll find in any typical hotel resort room).
So, let’s have a look at some vacation homes with amazing pools and backyards. Your paradise is just a click away, and your family and friends will thank you for finding the perfect vacation rental!
Stunning South Lake Tahoe Cabin with Indoor Pool

Every imaginable amenity is yours at this incredibly gorgeous South Lake Tahoe home. If you’re traveling with a family or group of friends, this impressive abode can sleep up to 10 with 4-bedrooms and 2-baths. The master bedroom has a king bed with private master bath, jetted tub and separate shower.
Two other bedrooms feature queen beds and an additional loft offers two sets of twin beds.
The cabin itself is impressive with its high-beamed ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows offering picturesque mountain views and a rock fireplace in the living room. If you aren’t pampered enough, there’s the indoor pool, heated to 87-degrees year-round along with a separate steam room, dry sauna, and jacuzzi on deck perfect for an evening of stargazing.
Secluded Lodge in the Adirondacks with Hot Tub, Pool and Sauna
What was once The Whitetail Lodge has been transformed into a more-modern Adirondack home. The vacation home sits on two acres of land surrounded by a wild and wonderful landscape.
Featuring three bedrooms, with a king, queen and three twins respectively, this impressive property in Jay, New York also sports three bathrooms, a game and recreation room, living room fireplace, three covered porches, an outdoor saltwater pool, 7-seat saltwater hot tub, infrared sauna and radiant floors.
Guests will also enjoy the former lodge’s manicured front yard for outdoor games such as bocce, corn hole and frisbee.
Lake Havasu Paradise: a Tropical Backyard Resort
This lovely Arizona desert paradise on a river in picturesque Lake Havasu City includes three bedrooms and two full baths that can sleep up to eight guests along with its living room sleeper sofa.
The backyard is its own private resort with a solar-heated pool and water slide, a gas-lit fireplace, elevated hot tub, outdoor tiki bar and twinkling lights scattered throughout the patio for magical nighttime ambience.
Three-Story Destin Home with Pool, Spa and Game Room
This is the vacation rental for those looking for a beach getaway with a large family or group of friends. Castles by the Sea is a three-story house located in Destin on Florida’s iconic Gulf Coast.

Both the little and big kids will love that the Big Kahuna’s Water and Adventure Park is only a 10-minute stroll from the home and Destin Harbor a three-minute drive away.
The private backyard pool and oasis features a gentle-slope entry, fountains and LED lights and large spa with water jets spraying out of the deck. Other pool deck amenities include a full outdoor kitchen, gas grill and plenty of lounge seating.
Palm Springs Mid-Century Modern Jewel
If you’ve ever been to Palm Springs, you know you have to stay in a venue with a pool. But it’s even better when you’re not having to share that pool with strangers.
Villa Del Sol is located on the award-winning Tahquitz Creek Golf Legends Course. The stunning mid-century modern desert oasis features a huge, private backyard with a saltwater pool, cabana daybed, waterfall spa, fire pit and gorgeous unobstructed panoramic mountain views.
The 4-bedroom, 3-bath home can sleep eight with a king suite along with an en suite bath with an impressive walk-in shower. A second primary suite on the opposite side of the house features a king bed and private bath. The third bedroom also is outfitted with a king and a fourth room offers two queens next to a shared bath.
Hummingbird Hideaway: Texas Hill Country Canyon Lake

This Canyon Lake waterfront home located in picturesque Texas Hill Country can comfortably sleep up to 10 guests with four bedrooms and four baths.
Everyone will find their own space with a master suite, deck access and attached bathroom. A second bedroom is located off the living room with a queen bed and full bath.
The kids will love the downstairs area with a game room that includes a ping-pong table. The third and fourth bedrooms along with two baths are located here, one a king, the other with twin-over-full bunk beds.
