Surrounded by 2,500-acres of lush tropical forest and pristine beaches, the luxurious TRS Cap Cana resort, part of the Palladium Hotel Group, is the ideal sanctuary escape for those looking for a true relaxing and indulging vacation experience.
The all-inclusive, adults-only property with 115 rooms is located in the most exclusive part of Punta Cana, on the east coast of the Dominican Republic. But the best part is that while it exudes boutique luxury, the hotel maintains a laid-back and inviting vibe. Coupled with outstanding service, these attributes make TRS Cap Cana resort the ideal place for relaxing and re-charging.
Though it’s great to take family trips, we all need a little “adulting” time in our lives.
Cap Cana Resort Invites You in from the Lobby

Cap Cana’s open-air lobby is absolutely breathtaking, caressed by gentle breezes coming in off the ocean. The vaulted canopy ceiling constructed of wood and glass is stunning. I loved the comfortable and spacious seating areas, but couldn’t help but take notice of the lobby’s rope swings immensely popular with guests.
As I headed to the outdoor veranda overlooking the pool area and ocean in the distance, I thought “this is artistry and nature in perfect harmony.” Yes, it is indeed paradise.
I was impressed with the hotel manager’s description of the Cap Cana hotel’s concept for guests here to vacation by “doing it your way.” That includes the type of accommodations, dining experiences, indulgence services, and excursions. It’s truly a place that caters to individual needs and wishes. And to boot, each guest is assigned a butler who is there to ensure this island getaway is everything travelers dreamed it would be. And then some.
My Amazing Cap Cana Accommodations

Suites here include marina, pool, and ocean view rooms. In addition, there are swim-ups and terrace suites. The ocean view terrace suite not only has spectacular sea views, but also sports a private bubbling Jacuzzi on its spacious lanai.
My suite of choice just happened to be a swim-up poolside with views overlooking the Caribbean Sea. These swim-ups are the most requested of all room types here, and for a very good reason. Each patio includes loungers and a hammock with direct pool access. There’s nothing like a relaxing morning, afternoon, or sunset swim where privacy is such a plus commodity.
My beautifully-appointed room included a king-size bed, separate living room with a sofa bed, small dining area, and a lovely bathroom with a shower. Other room options include two queens. The suite also featured a full mini-bar and 24-hour room service. Aromatherapy and turn-down service were lovely added touches.
Cap Cana Resort Amenities

All stays at the TRS Cap Cana include an exclusive indulgence package and access to massages at the spa and wellness center. The hotel sports two stunning swimming pools with loungers, cabanas, and swim-up bars.
While the property is not located directly on the beach, a hotel shuttle can take guests to nearby magnificent Playa Juanillo, ranked as one of the Dominican Republic’s top beaches. The postcard-perfect stretch of pristine, powdery sand is lined with swaying palms and the calm ocean waters are a mix of vibrant azure, turquoise, and teal hues. The waters are ideal for swimming and when the wind is up, the windsurfers are thrilled.
At the beach, guests have access to lounge chairs and umbrellas, mini-cabanas, and my favorite, an irresistible beach swing that absolutely brings out the kid in us all.
Though the shuttle maintains a regular schedule, guests can return to the hotel at their own leisure by request.
Dining at Cap Cana

The foodie experiences here at the Cap Cana Hotel provide a fantastic gastronomic journey through a world of flavors and cuisines. The all-inclusive dining plan includes a choice of four onsite restaurants, with house wines and liquors. However, there are also options for premium upgrades.
Helios, inspired by Ibizan beach clubs is a casual eatery located right on the beach and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The charming terrace offers spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and specializes in artisanal wood-fired pizzas and fresh pastas. The restaurants here are noted for their incredibly fresh seafood entrees, and even lobster dishes are offered with no upcharge – most unusual for an all-inclusive.
Izakaya transports guests on a culinary journey through the world of wonderful Japanese street foods. Tentazione is a more fine-dining international choice, and El Gaucho is ideal for meat lovers with their Argentinian barbeque options. A casual coffee bar just off the lobby carries tea sandwiches and tempting small-serving desserts.
I must say that the food here was stellar. Chefs have truly created some impressive selections with the perfect touch of Caribbean flare and contemporary twist.
The Cabaret Show at TRS Turquesa in Punta Cana
A musical spectacular that immerses guests in the magic of the Moulin Rouge in Paris and the cabarets of Berlin with added Caribbean vibe and sensuality is the Chic Cabaret and Restaurant at the TRS Turquesa in Punta Cana. This is the adults-only sister property, and guests of Cap Cana can take a complimentary shuttle to enjoy this vibrant show with glitter, feathers, and costumes to knock your socks off.
The show includes a five-course dinner with alcoholic beverages that’s quite impressive and well-worth the extra $35 per person charge. It’s that good!
Discovering Captivating Cap Cana

Guests of the resort are invited to work with the attentive and knowledgeable leisure specialists who can assist with local trips to explore the hidden gems of this incredibly picturesque area.
The hotel is just a short distance from the famous Punta Espada Golf Club designed by golfing Hall of Famer Jack Nicklaus. Nearby Los Establos stables offers horseback riding adventures.
For those seeking even more excitement, I highly recommend a visit to Scape Park at Cap Cana. This spectacular adrenaline-packed eco park offers snorkeling, ziplining, ancient caverns, and underwater caves. And free transportation is available from most Punta Cana and Cap Cana hotels.
Here are a few tours and adventures you might enjoy in Punta Cana:
- Adventure Bundle: Monkeyland, Ziplines & Buggies
- Full-Day Santo Domingo City Tour
- 4×4 ATV & Water Cave Half-Day Adventure
- Sailing & Snorkeling Catamaran Tour (small group)
- 4×4 Adventure with Chocolate and Coffee Tasting
La vida es buena. Life is good in the Dominican Republic, and I for one can’t wait to return to spend more time at the incredibly splendid, pretty-as-a-picture TRS Cap Cana. And to experience more of this amazing Hispaniola paradise.
