At sunrise, the emergence of blue skies was greeted with pink-laced clouds as we stepped onto the patio. And just for a fleeting moment, the white sand reflecting pink hues created a resplendent image along the shore.
From the deck upstairs, we watched the fantastic sunsets of Panama City Beach. First, the sapphire blue skies become golden, then turn amber. Finally, the amber deepens into blood orange just before the sun dips below the horizon. These calming effects of a beach vacation cannot be overstated.
My husband and I needed to escape the cold of our Oklahoma winter. After searching VRBO, we found what we hoped would provide a perfect beach getaway. “Tide Life,” offered through VRBO and managed by Holiday Beach Rentals, is located just west of Panama City Beach along the Florida Panhandle. The house sits on the beach side of Front Beach Road and, as such, offers a front-row seat to a fabulous Gulf Coast view.
Unobstructed Views of the Gulf Coast

Walking through the front door of the rental, and around a small hallway, we were greeted by an open living, dining, and kitchen area. The large picture windows provided a panoramic view of the beach below.
Whether cooking or just relaxing on comfortable couches, the blue sky, white sand, and turquoise water with white-capped waves are always visible. The dining table is situated to provide this same incredible view.
The kitchen is furnished with a coffee pot (offering drip or Keurig) and all necessary utensils, equipment, and dinnerware. The kitchen island provides a functional space for meal prep or service and a grill is available on the patio.
Comfortable Bright Rooms with a Beachy Vibe

The entire house is bright with a fun beach vibe in its décor and luxury furnishings. The downstairs bedroom with king bed is located street-side. The light gray linens accent the white furnishings and plantation shutters. The ensuite shower carries out the tone with its gray accent tiles.
Two king master suites and one bedroom with two bunk beds is located upstairs. Each bedroom is complete with a private bath. One master suite opens to a full deck furnished with lounge chairs—perfect for watching the sunrise or sunset.

The comfortable bed is positioned to capture the first morning light. A second king suite sports a large picture window with a view of the beach and faces west to take in the last rays of sunlight. Both rooms are beautifully appointed with cool beach-y colors.
The two bunk beds in the third upstairs bedroom are decorated in bright, fun colors—blues, yellows, and splashes of red. A fun room for children or adults. One of the beds is a twin over twin bunk, while the other is a queen over queen. The ensuite in this room includes a shower and tub combination.
Take in The Sights from The Patio or Stroll Along the Beach

Most of our days were enjoyed on our patio. The unobstructed view of the white sandy beach was superb. We loved the sound of the waves hitting the shoreline as the sun warmed our skin. Watching the people strolling along the shore was a delight. We laughed at how many were bent over combing the sand, rake in hand, to collect shells and deposit them into their bags.
This picturesque beach extends for miles to the east and west, providing an open invitation for long easy walks. On the second day, we walked down a private boardwalk from the house to stroll along the beach—listening to the sounds of the sea, smelling the fresh air, and feeling the pillowy white sand beneath our feet.
As we walked, my eye caught the sight of the most extraordinary shell. I picked it up to keep for the grandkids back home. But then, there was another. . . and another. By the end of our walk, we had handfuls of seashells. We had to laugh knowing the next day we would be bringing a bag, too. A handful obviously is never enough.
A Private Heated Pool on A Cool Day

February in Florida can bring some cool days. But that’s not a problem at Tide Life as the house comes with a private heated pool. Several mornings we grabbed our mimosas and hurried to the pool to bask in the warmth of the water while enjoying the sights before us. This became our favorite way to begin each day in paradise.
Stunning Sunsets from Your Own Beachfront Deck

Our last evening in Panama City Beach, with a glass of wine in hand, we watched the sunset from our patio. The sky began its color changes—each shade more profound than the one before until the final light manifested a rich blood orange. I couldn’t help but notice that the deep cobalt blue of the pool light provided the perfect complement to a perfect sunset. What a stunning end to our trip.
A Variety of Homes and Beach Equipment for Rent
Holiday Beach Rentals offers many vacation rentals in the Panama City Beach area. They have sizes to fit any need—even houses that can accommodate 25 guests. We found Tide Life to be very clean, extremely comfortable, and a home that could easily accommodate a group of 12.
Beach chairs and umbrellas can be ordered through Holiday—delivered each day and set up for you on the beach area in front of the patio. They also provide other rentals for beach enjoyment such as paddleboards and bikes. And the rental company will gladly assist in arranging different types of beach excursions, such as dolphin tours, airboat adventures, and various water sports.
The Perfect Getaway with Easy Access

With its 27-miles of pristine beaches, the Panama City Beach area is an excellent place for any type of beach vacation you are looking for—a quiet relaxing getaway or an adventure-packed vacation with your family.
Restaurants are plentiful, offering any kind of cuisine you might desire. Of course, our favorites were the numerous beachfront establishments serving up delicious fresh local seafood.
Panama City Beach is close to two airports—the Beaches International Airport northwest of Panama City and a 20-minute drive to Tide Life or the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport near Destin, about an hour drive to the house.
Tide Life truly provided the calming beach vacation we needed, and left us wanting to go back. As often as possible.
