If you’re into tropical retreats with Caribbean charm and colorful Key West cottage style, then Harbour Lake Marriott Orlando Vacation Club is an ideal choice when visiting Mickey and company.
My family and I booked the resort for its location near major theme parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando. The resort provides shuttle services to these parks for added convenience.
Harbour Lake is not only beautiful, it’s a ton of fun with many recreational activities and amenities available.
Marriott Harbour Lakes Orlando

Marriott’s Harbour Lake Vacation Club features well-appointed studios and one- and two-bedroom villas with a range of modern amenities, including fully equipped kitchens, separate living and dining room areas, and private balconies or patios. The villas are designed to provide a comfortable, home-like experience for guests. They ever deliver!
Checking in, we were impressed with the spacious high-ceiling lobby and massive paddle fans providing a cooling breeze through the lovely den sitting area.
Our family of four adults and two kids booked a two-bedroom, two-bath villa to ensure plenty of room and privacy. Our 1082-square-feet of living space including a balcony was roomy enough for everyone.
The master bedroom included a king bed and table for two, the second room, two queens, and a sofa bed. It’s important to add that even the studios which can sleep four measure 450-square-feet and include a king bed and one queen sleeper sofa in the living room area along with a kitchenette.
The villa décor consisted of a well-considered fusion of turquoise, blue and coral colors with tropical accents – absolutely what you’d expect in a Caribbean-inspired property.
We loved our fully-furnished kitchen, ideal for morning breakfast before hitting the parks and activities or snacks throughout the day or evening. The villa offered three TVs, one in each of the bedrooms and the other in the spacious living room.
Of course, the washer and dryer came in very handy during our one-week stay.
As always in the Marriott vacation club properties we’ve stayed in, wireless internet is complimentary as is parking and Marriott does not charge resort fees.
Harbour Lakes Marriott Orlando

Island themed architecture and landscaping set the scene for a tropical escape, especially with Harbour Lake’s incredible pools. Shipwreck Landing features waterslides and a beckoning pirate ship with a play area. Florida Falls also has a waterslide and a “water works” interactive splash pad with water canyons, dumping water buckets and more. There’s also a spa whirlpool, sauna and fitness room on site.
Outdoor fire pits are a great place to wind down the day, and for those who like to grill, Harbour Lake Marriott Orlando has plenty of stations.
Activities abound at this resort. There’s enough to keep everyone entertained for as long as they choose. We enjoyed playing miniature golf, basketball and volleyball along with family challenges on the outdoor ping-pong and foosball tables.
Additionally, there are plenty of organized activities for kids and adults, such as arts and crafts, game nights, and movie screenings. Iff you’re looking for additional games to play in your villa, you can check them out at the activity center.
But word of warning here, as you’ll be hard-pressed to get the kiddos (big and little) out of Harbour Lake’s impressive game room the whole family will love!

Walt Disney World and its many parks are located 10 miles from the resort, while Universal Orlando is less than five miles, and Sea World only a mile away.
Other popular attractions include Gatorland, nine miles from Harbour Lake, and Discovery Cove, a mere four-minute drive. If you don’t mind venturing out a bit, world-famous Kennedy Space Center is less than an hour by car from the resort and is well-worth a visit.
Though we’ve stayed at many different hotels and resorts in the Orlando area, we all agreed that this was definitely one of our favorites. It’s perfect for families, especially those with kids.
