I was heading down The Weekend Palm Springs stone path so elegantly lined with Madagascar palms and…there it was. A gorgeous red door. The entry to my Palm Springs boutique hotel.
This mid-century modern luxury boutique property is located in the exclusive Old Las Palmas neighborhood, and one of the most perfect places to stay in Palm Springs.
Red is my favorite color so I took this as a good sign. Lit up each night with iconic California fan palms standing three stories tall on either side, this entry felt like a safe desert home. Standing like giant desert guardians it was though these palms were there to welcome this female traveler to a safe place.
Upon entering the hotel, the warm welcome continued. Owner, Mark Hermann’s big beaming grin spoke volumes of what to expect at The Weekend Palm Springs.
Relax or Play Poolside at this Palm Spring Boutique Hotel
As I stepped through the door, smooth relaxing lounge music set the perfect scene., White padded lounge chairs opening onto a tranquil pool area invited poolside relaxation.
This was the perfect place to unwind with a good book enjoying dips in the pool as the Hollywood stars once did. Each suite’s vibrant orange door added a splash of color, perfectly complementing the turquoise of the pool. It made me want to sit out there for hours enjoying the music.

Your Own Oasis in the Desert
Stepping into my suite was like stepping into my own private oasis. Just closing the door, all stress seemed to melt away.
As clean and simple as the mid-century modern architecture’s lines project, there’s a glamour here that pays homage to the Hollywood’s stars and starlets of days gone by. I could just imagine the rich and famous spending time here, just as I was now.

Feeling Posh and Pampered
One of the things I love most about The Weekend Palm Springs is its beautiful and unique personal touches. There’s the amazing French lemon and verbena soap, shower gel, body lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. And a soft makeup-removing wash towel.
Fluffy soft bathrobes inside a sizeable bathroom won me over. The large spacious shower was like the last spa I visited. The kind that you walk into but don’t want to walk out of. When you do here however, you can flop onto your large comfortable bed in complete squeaky-clean relaxed happiness.
I really liked the roomy walk-in closet with everything to keep the room tidy tucked away, yet easily accessible.
Sleep Like a Baby

Like sleeping on a cloud, every night I experienced amazingly deep and restful sleep. Surroundings are quiet and tranquil and there is no traffic noise, loud neighbors or anything else to disturb that precious recuperative rest. I also loved the private courtyard outside, perfect for relaxing.
Mark says he specifically designed The Weekend this way. So, every suite has optimal privacy and quiet making this a true sanctuary.
Oh, That Hollywood Glamour
Lastly, I loved the Hollywood glamour feel –featured in the famous photos found in the suite.
The works are by renowned New York photographer Slim Aarons who described his style as “Attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.”

His famous images like The Kings of Hollywood (1957) epitomized the charm, charisma, and celebrity he sought to capture in his portraits. It all adds to the Hollywood glamour Palm Springs is famous for.
I know that during my stay at The Weekend Palm Springs, I too felt like a star. If you’re looking for a Palm Springs boutique hotel for your next visit, check it out!
