Historic, charming, and captivating are just some of the words to describe Cambria. Situated along the famous Pacific Coast Highway (also known as Highway 1) on California’s Central Coast, Cambria is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, magnificent beaches and artistic community. This is truly an outdoor lover’s nirvana.
Cambria sits about midway between San Francisco and Los Angeles though it’s an often-missed gem for travelers heading to the Big Sur.
Nestled among towering pines and the shimmering Pacific waters, Cambria is the perfect combination of adventuresome getaway and relaxing retreat in an ideal location for exploring the many treasures of this marvelous region.
It’s a place where visitors come once, and thoroughly enchanted, often return for a lifetime. We can certainly understand why after my husband’s and my visit to this lovely destination.
You won’t find a chain store or fast-food restaurant in sight, but you will find boutiques, antiques, local arts and crafts, wine tasting, lovely cafes and a whole lot of history. Cambria is where adventure meets relaxation, fun meets flavor, and the pines meet the sea.
A Stay at Oceanpoint Ranch

One of the biggest draws of Oceanpoint Ranch is its proximity to the ocean. After all, if you’re coming to the coast, you should look for those places that offer coastal views! The ranch even has direct beach access from a private trail.
Snuggled along the majestic shores and rocky coastline of Moonstone Beach, everything about this nine-acre seaside property is warm and inviting. Guests are a mix of couples, friends, families, and even wedding parties since the ranch is a favorite wedding venue.
Surrounded by massive pines, historic cypress trees, landscaped gardens and magnificent ocean views, everything about Oceanpoint Ranch appeals to the nature lover. Sunsets here are breathtaking.
The Moonstone Corral area features outdoor lawn activities that include horseshoes, croquet, cornhole, shuffleboard, bocce and a gazebo. An outdoor heated pool is perfect for year-round swimming and picnic areas offer guests the option of eating outdoors. Firepits located in the corral and throughout the property are ideal for watching the sunset over the Pacific with a glass of wine. Nighttime s’mores making is a popular fun-filled activity.
In addition, the resort’s location provides easy access to nearby attractions such as the Moonstone black- sand Beach named for its smooth, honed and polished, colorful stones, the magnificent Hearst Castle and various hiking trails. Biking, beachcombing, tidepooling, surfing and kayaking are also popular as are whale-watching tours.
The charming village of Cambria is only seven-minute drive from the ranch.
Accommodations at the Ranch

Originally built in the 1950s, the boutique property’s rustic, but chic ranch-inspired guest rooms have been beautifully renovated while still preserving the charm of its original architectural design. Rooms feature coastal designs along with bold plaids and animal prints to beautifully restored vaulted wood ceilings and rich leather accents.
Guests can choose between cozy cabins, rooms and suites situated throughout the ranch. Our king guest room overlooked the pool. Other accommodations feature queen beds, double queens, and some have wood burning fireplaces and bathroom claw-foot tubs. If you’re looking for more space, The Bunkhouse is perfect for family stays and group getaways with a fully equipped kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, courtyard access, and more.
Parking and Wi-Fi are complementary for all guests.
In addition, Oceanpoint Ranch offers ADA-Accessible accommodations along with pet-friendly rooms.
Whichever room type fits your preferences, slumber will come easy as you’re serenaded by a chorus of creekside frogs and the crashing ocean surf nearby.
