Yes, it’s the desert, but Marriott’s Desert Springs II is also a gorgeous oasis located just 30 minutes from one of California’s favorite playgrounds: magnificent Palm Springs.
In the heart of the Coachella Valley, the resort is in an absolutely ideal location for taking advantage of outdoor activities available in the area. Golfers, sun worshippers, hikers, adventurers, art and food lovers all flock to Palm Springs and its nine distinct bedroom communities making up Greater Palm Springs for laid-back, memorable vacations.
Marriott’s Desert Springs Resorts
Marriott Desert Springs offers two areas for guest stays: Villas I and II. They are located right next to each other. There’s also a JW Marriott nearby with amenities guests are also welcome to use.
Both vacation clubs are lovely properties, and you can’t go wrong with either one. I prefer Villas II and have stayed there on many occasions.
What’s the difference?
Villas I is closer to the JW Marriott hotel restaurants and main pool; Villa II is a bit further away, but tends to be on the quieter side.
Villa I units are a little smaller than Villa II units, but they have fireplaces which Villa II units do not.
Villa I’s second bedroom has two queen beds, while Villa II has a king bed and a sofa/sleeper.
Villa II is on the back end of the property and thereby closer to some of the holes on the golf course.
Desert Villas I is slightly older than Villas II.
Staying at Desert Springs Villas II

The Villa II property offers 402 guestrooms (studios) along with one and two-bedroom villas.
Settle into stylish guest rooms with kitchenettes, sofa beds and balconies with scenic desert views, and a sofa and sitting area. One-bedrooms offer a king bed and living room sofa bed, full kitchen, living room, and dining area.
Guests staying in the two-bedroom villas also have access to a king bed in both rooms along with a sleeper sofa.
Villas are decorated in a simple, classy manner purposely designed to not compete, but rather complement the picturesque desert. Here you’ll find a combination of desert flora along with swaying palms.

Amenities galore!

One of the top benefits of staying at Marriott’s Desert Springs II Vacation Club is taking advantage of all the amenities on both properties, the Villas I and II, which also includes the stunningly beautiful JW Marriott.
Guests can dip into seven different pools along with recreational amenities including a full-fledged health club and bicycles to rent. There are numerous walking paths located throughout the property as well.
Dry cleaning/laundry services are available along with a 24-hour front desk, on-site laundry facilities, and to the delight of many guests, parking is complementary.
Dining at Desert Springs Villas II
Vacation club stays here allow for the choice of in-room cooking or grilling on property barbeque grills. Several grocery stores are only a five to seven minute drive from the resort.
The Water’s Edge Bar & Grill is a casual poolside restaurant and bar open for lunch and serving tasty burgers, fresh salads and other handcrafted food items. For those needing a quick food or personal pick-up, The Marketplace is a great choice for grabbing a snack, cup of Starbucks® coffee or other necessity.
Dining at the JW Marriott
This luxurious resort is located within walking distance of the Marriott Vacation Club with a private back entrance. The resort features full-service spa services that can also be booked by vacation club guests.
To the delight of Desert Springs Villa patrons, JW offers a variety of culinary experiences ranging from laid-back pool bites to more elaborate finer-dining restaurants. A call to your vacation villa concierge can ensure a reservation.
Two of my favorite restaurants here include Fisherman’s Landing with freshly caught seafood dishes and Rockwood Grill, an American-inspired bistro overlooking the pools and water features of the resort.
With a stay at Marriott’s Desert Springs Villas II in Palm Desert, you’ll find all the comforts of home in your specious villa along with being in close proximity to many of the attractions and venues that make the Palm Springs area such a delightful place to visit.
