Crane’s Beach House, the fun place to stay in Delray Beach, Florida

If you’re looking for fun in southeast Florida, look no further than Delray Beach. With accolades like “Most Fun Small Town in the in the USA,” Delray Beach is a small town that gives you a big city experience.

In the late 1800s, Delray Beach was a haven for shipwreck victims. Today it’s a haven for visitors looking for a vibrant beach town experience.

I started my explorations by staying at the most fun place in Delray Beach: Crane’s Beach House. This luxury tropical oasis has beautifully renovated rooms, suites, and villas surrounded by verdant gardens, all with indulgent amenities and full kitchens. There are two swimming pools on site; intimate conversation areas and colorful accents invoke a definite Key West feel to the property.

The moment I walked into the courtyard at Crane’s Beach House, I felt the bustle of South Florida fade away. I was surrounded with the sights and sounds of a tropical paradise. Towering palms, sparkling swimming pools and bubbling fountains create a unique atmosphere of island serenity with a hint of fun.

The suites and villas offer a contemporary beach house vibe inviting guests in and encourage them to relax.

Beautiful grounds and comfortable rooms aside, the best reason to stay at Crane’s Beach House is the location. This oasis is one block west of the sparkling waters at Delray Municipal Beach and one block south of the restaurants and shops of Atlantic Avenue. By staying at Crane’s Beach House, you can park your car once and walk to everything you want to see and do in Delray Beach.

Modern Beach Accommodations

I stayed in a second floor, deluxe one-bedroom suite with a large seating area, full kitchen, and balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The vegetation on property so abundant it felt like I was staying in a tree house. The bedroom had a king-size bed and beautifully appointed ensuite bath with a glassed-in shower.

Four different classifications of accommodations make up their 28-room boutique hotel. The studio room has a queen-size bed and a kitchenette equipped with a mini refrigerator and a microwave, and sleeps two. The one-bedroom suite features a king size bed, separate living area, full kitchen, and pull-out sofa bed. This suite can sleep up to four guests. The deluxe one-bedroom suite that also sleeps four has a king-size bed, separate living area, full kitchen, private balcony or covered patio and pull-out sofa bed.

The Luxury Villa offers a king-size bed, separate living area with designer appointed furnishings, full kitchen, private balcony or covered patio and pull-out sofa bed as well, and can accommodate four. Crane’s also offers ADA compliant, accessible rooms.

Beach House Amenities

I was surprised at the many amenities of this intimate hotel. The beautifully manicured garden-like courtyards are home to two saline swimming pools with chaise lounges and soft beach towels, hammocks and an outdoor “living room” tiki hut.

The interior courtyard is protected by an eight-foot, landscaped privacy fence and gated security entrances. On-site parking is complimentary. I felt safe and secure during my stay and swaddled in upscale comfort.

Within your room, suite or villa, the feeling of coastal luxury continues. From the artwork created by local artists to plush bathrobes and decadent toiletries, the attention to detail creates a pampered environment allowing you to vacation at your own pace.

Kitchens are well stocked with dishes and utensils including my favorite, a Nespresso Machine, with espresso pods replaced daily.

On Site Enhancements

Even before your visit to Crane’s Beach House, you can have them stock your room with tasty options. For an additional charge you can even add a bit of romance to your stay with fresh flowers, sparkling wine and chocolates, or enjoy a beach picnic package complete with wine and chicken salad. Or perhaps you’ll choose to have all the ingredients for breakfast in bed. 

Backpack beach chairs, beach towels and yoga mats are also available for guest use.

If you are interested in a wellness focus, Crane’s Beach House can arrange private yoga, meditation or acupuncture sessions. They will also stock your room with fresh fruit and arrange for in-room or outdoor massages for an additional charge. Staff can also help with bicycle rentals, stand up paddle or surf board rentals.
