Though Breckenridge, Colorado is known as an extremely popular ski resort, my family and I know that the other seasons of the year bring their own share of magic to this Rocky Mountain town. With its breathtaking scenery, crisp, clean air, and the promise of outdoor adventure, Breckenridge is one of our favorite destinations and when we visit, we prefer staying at the Breckenridge Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge.

Nestled at one base of the vast Breckenridge ski area, the vacation club is within walking distance of the year-round activities along Breck’s charmed downtown main street. Playing, staying and dining are all convenient from our vacation rental at Breckenridge Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge.

Unless you’re wanting to drive outside the area, once you park your car at the lodge, you can walk or take the Breckenridge complimentary shuttle anywhere in town.

Accommodations at the vacation club range from 111 spacious studios or one-bedroom villas located over seven floors. Studios offer 450-square-feet of living space and can accommodate four people with a queen bed, double sleeper sofa, bath, full kitchen, living room and dining area. Some studios include a whirlpool tub.

One-bedroom villas are double the size at 900-square-feet, with a maximum occupancy of six guests with a king bed, two double sleeper sofas, and two baths with a whirlpool. The living room and bedroom are separated by a privacy wall. A full kitchen along with a living room/sitting area and dining area add to the home away from home feel, whether you’re here for a weekend getaway or a week or longer stay.

If you’re in need of a Breckenridge property for a larger group, look here.

While the Mountain Valley Lodge units don’t have their own washer and dryer, each floor of the resort offers a free laundry area with industrial washers and dryers.

Tasteful and well-planned décor pays homage to the colors and features of this Rocky Mountain region with its tans, browns, and orange touches.

All rooms at Breckenridge Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge have balconies offering stunning views of the mountain slopes, streams, picturesque Maggie Pond, Rotary Snowplow Park, and charming downtown Breckenridge. These views alone make staying here a treat.

Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge in Breckenridge sports a large outdoor heated pool and whirlpool spas along with sitting areas with warming firepits. Guests who like to grill will find plenty of outdoor barbeques located on a stone patio which also includes a rustic seating area with tables, chairs and another firepit.

A fitness center offers plenty of cardio and weight training equipment to help guests stay in shape if the skiing, hiking and biking isn’t enough to keep you fit.

Another benefit of staying at this resort is that it offers ski-in/ski-out access to Quicksilver lift on Peak 9. On-site ski and snowboard rental is offered by Charter Sports with complimentary storage of the equipment for guests. And for those into tubing and sledding, Marriott provides free snow disks and sleds.

Where to Shop for Food in Breckenridge

You’re at a vacation rental – your home away from home – with full kitchen amenities. That means you’ll likely be looking for a grocery store even it you just want coffee or tea in the morning, a glass of wine in the afternoon, hot cocoa in the evening, or some goodies to munch on during your stay.

We can recommend our favorite places to shop.

City Market – Breckenridge

This large grocery store is part of the Kroger family and therefore offers a wide selection along with competitive food prices. It’s usually our go-to on our trips to Breckenridge.

Shoppers can find just about everything here from produce and baked goods to a full deli and cheese counter, pharmacy and general merchandise.

It’s only a 6-minute drive from the vacation club.

Safeway – Frisco

Those who are loyal shoppers of Safeway or Vons will find a Safeway in Frisco, 20-minutes from the resort, but less than a quarter mile from the Breckenridge exit on Interstate 70 which you’ll be driving on when arriving from Denver. You’ll go right by it, so if you’re a Safeway shopper, stop for groceries before heading on to Breckenridge and save a trip.

Again, like City Market, you’ll find everything you need to cook or snack on in your vacation villa from assorted meats and seafood to produce, deli and bakery items. There’s also a Starbucks right near by.

Breckenridge Market & Liquor

This store located in the historic downtown is a one-stop for groceries or liquor, but don’t expect a huge selection. Prices here are a bit higher although often worth it for the convenience. If you need a quick pickup, this is the place to go.

No matter what time of the year you decide to visit this four-season destination, Breckenridge Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge is an ideal place for adults, families or friend getaways.

We love it here and you will too.
